Beloved,

Thank you for your patience and support during this unprecedented time. We know you probably have questions about our regathering and we want to keep you as informed as possible. As you read through our initial roll out below, please do so with the understanding that many details are subject to change based on leadership decisions and direction. We are excited to gather again, but please use caution or stay home if you feel uncomfortable or are sick. We all have different levels of concern moving forward, so let’s show love, patience, and understanding in the days to come.

For many weeks, in preparation for this regathering plan, we have prayed, watched seminars, discussed with leaders across our Association, listened and read things from our Governor and medical professionals and had many discussions looking at things from as many perspectives as possible. Simply stated, there are many differing opinions, many different experiences, and many different ideas about when and how we should regather. The leadership of FBC readily admits that the following plan is not perfect and does contain things which will need to be adjusted. That being said, we offer this regathering plan in humility and ask for your patience and support as we seek to continue to be faithful to the Lord while also being sensitive concerning this virus. We have put together the following plan which consists of 3 phases.

Phase 1:

Worship: We will regather for worship services ONLY on June 7th at 10:30am. We will be meeting at the new property in the Pavilion which is located behind the new Discipleship Building. If you have been experiencing symptoms or do not feel comfortable regathering with us on June 7th, please continue to watch us online. Our goal is to broadcast our services live, but if we are not able, they will be available by Sunday evening.

Children: There will be no childcare or classes for children. Children are welcome in the service. We encourage you to participate in Children’s Growth Groups (Sunday School) online using the videos sent out each Sunday and the free Lifeway resources.

Youth: There will be no classes for youth. We encourage students to continue meeting with Seth online.

Growth Groups: There will be no Growth Groups. We encourage groups to continue to meet using the virtual platforms suggested earlier.

Other meetings, etc.: On an as needed basis.

What to expect:

  • We encourage everyone who plans to regather with us to practice social distancing and proper safe health measures.
  • As you enter the building, hand sanitizer will be available and will also be placed throughout the building.
  • Chairs will be spaced to maintain proper distancing. Households may sit together, but everyone else is encouraged to sit at least 6 feet apart.
  • If you are the first household or person to sit on a pew, please move all the way to the far end to help prevent close contact.
  • There will not be a coffee-station, but we will provide small individual bottles of water.
  • Concerning touching, hand-shakes, hugs, etc., let’s remain incredibly sensitive to each other. It is suggested that we refrain from this as much as possible.
  • Instead of passing an offering plate, we will have giving boxes located in the back to provide an opportunity for you to give your tithe and offering as you enter or exit.
  • The building and bathrooms will be cleaned and sanitized after each worship service.
  • To help us maintain proper sanitization, etc., the new Discipleship Building will not be open. Tours of the building can be given upon individual request.
  • You are more than welcome to wear a mask, gloves, or any other personal protection equipment to attend onsite services. Please understand that we are leaving this to the discretion of the individual.
  • We will continue to monitor the situation and adjust as necessary.

Phase 2:

Worship: On June 21st, we will continue worship services as noted above with the same expectations and procedures. As noted below, a few things will change.

Children: There will be no childcare or classes. Children are welcome in the service. We encourage you to participate in Children’s Growth Groups (Sunday School) online using the videos sent out each Sunday and the free Lifeway resources.

Youth: Youth will begin growth groups on Sunday mornings, Wed. evening meetings, and other activities.

Growth Groups: Growth Groups will begin regular gatherings. Those that meet on Sunday morning or those that use church property will meet in the new Discipleship Building in assigned rooms.

Other meetings, etc.: On an as needed basis.

Again, we will follow the same expectations and procedures as found in phase 1 with the noted exceptions above. We will also continue to assess, evaluate and adjust accordingly.

Phase 3:

Worship: On July 5th, we will continue worship under almost normal conditions.

Children: Child care and classes will resume and will be available in the new Discipleship Building.

Youth: Regular activities continue.

Growth Groups: Regular activities continue.

Other meetings, etc.: Meetings, teams, etc. will resume as normal.

What to expect:

  • We encourage everyone who plans to regather with us to distance as you feel comfortable.
  • As you enter the building, hand sanitizer will be available and will also be placed throughout the building.
  • Chairs will be spaced normally, but there will be a section that will be spaced for those who desire to continue to sit apart.
  • Coffee-station and water stations will again be available.
  • Concerning touching, hand-shakes, hugs, etc., let’s remain incredibly sensitive to each other.
  • The offering will be taken up as normal.
  • The building and bathrooms will be cleaned and sanitized after each worship service.
  • The Discipleship Building will be open.
  • You are more than welcome to continue to wear a mask, gloves, or any other personal protection equipment to attend onsite services. Please understand that we are leaving this to the discretion of the individual.
  • We will continue to monitor the situation and adjust as necessary.

NOTE:

As you have noticed we will be regathering at the Pavilion. This will be our temporary meeting space until the new Worship Center is built. Upon its completion, hopefully within the next 9 mos., we will have a huge celebration and fellowship and dedication of all buildings! This will be an amazing time of giving thanks, praise, and worship to our Lord for His incredible faithfulness, provision, and goodness.

We are so excited and looking forward to regathering again! Please continue to pray for us as we navigate through these times.

Blessings,

FBC Staff
