MESSAGE: Romans 12:16-18

1. Through the VERTICAL Work of Jesus’ Cross, security is experienced in the HEART with God.

Rom. 5:1-2

A. We can experience the wonder of peace with God.

B. We can experience the work that gives peace with God.

1 John 5:13

2. Through the HORIZONTAL Work of Jesus’ Cross, Security can be expressed in the home with One Another.
A. Security is expressed through humility.

Rom. 12:3

Rom. 12:16b

B. Security is expressed through vulnerability.
C. Security is expressed through transparency with the Gospel,

Expressions of Security to One Another may be like this:

- Seek to increase ‘relational security’ in your closest relationships.
- Providing financial security for those to whom you are responsible.
- Be consistent in how you relate to people.
- Develop emotional self-control.
- Keep your promises.

Lord, who in my life, do I need to seek to be at peace with? Who needs more security?

Doing the Book

1. Share with a friend how to have peace with God based on today’s message. Draw out the Bridge diagram on a napkin and share the Gospel.
2. Pursue peace and security in your relationships. To resolve conflict, practice humility, vulnerability and transparency. Make peace with someone with whom you have a disagreement.
3. Discuss this statement with another – “It is impossible to have peace with one another until you first have peace with God.”Why or why not is this statement true?
