How to Handle Life's Trials

How to Handle Life's Trials

Passage: James 1:2-4

Preacher: Justin Lopez

Series: Single Sunday Sermon

Summary:

2nd Corinthians 7:4 “Great is my confidence in you; great is my boasting on your behalf. I am filled with comfort; I am overflowing with joy in all our affliction.” Acts 5:40-41 “They took his advice; and after calling the apostles in, they flogged them and ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and then released them. 41 So they went on their way from the presence of the Council, rejoicing that they had been considered worthy to suffer shame for His name.” Acts 16:22-25 “The crowd rose up together against them, and the chief magistrates tore their robes off them and proceeded to order them to be beaten with rods. 23 When they had struck them with many blows, they threw them into prison, commanding the jailer to guard them securely; 24and he, having received such a command, threw them into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks.25 But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.” Even in the midst of trials Christians can have joy because our joy comes from the Lord who dwells within each of us. We can embrace life’s trials not for what they are, but for what God can accomplish through them. God uses the trials of life as a part of His plan for His people.
